What Kind of Human Being Am I?

I am a curious, kind and generally happy human being. Curiosity, perfectionism and empirism define me. I do believe in the existance of an objective reality. If a topic is important to me, I feel a strong desire to get as close to this objective reality as possible.

At a crossroads in life I typically take the arduous path (for example deciding to attend Gymnasium1) with one notable (lucky2) exception, namely that I joined IBM rather than going to Shanghai for half a year to write my master thesis on Quantum Computing under Prof. Xiao-Bo Zhu from the Division of Quantum Physics and Quantum Information of the University of Science and Technology of China3.

If you want to learn more about what I am currently focusing on, head over to my Now page. My current roles and jobs are taken from my Timeline, which includes various events, roles, milestones and accomplishments of my life that I deem important (or I am just proud of).

My Current Roles & Jobs

  1. “Gymnasium” focuses more on languages (I learned Latin, French, Ancient Greek, English and German), whereas “Realgymnasium” focuses more on science. ↩︎

  2. My decision was just a few months before the Covid pandamic started. ↩︎

  3. A safe job in Vienna, my hometown, with a small but reliable income versus moving around the globe without big savings in a completely new and different environment. ↩︎
